Paul Billings is an American doctor, lecturer, speaker, researcher, professor, and consultant on genetic information. His major research interests include the impact of genomic information and biotechnology on society, the integration of genomics in to health care, and diagnostics for medical care and individualized genomic medicine. Dr. Paul Billings is the author of nearly 200 publicationsand books on genomic medicine, has spoken at numerous medical conferences, and appeared on talk shows such as The Oprah Show and 60 Minutes. Dr. Paul Billings currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Life Technologies Corporation, a new position aimed at improving patient care through expanding the use of medically relevant genomic technologies in clinical settings.

Billings serves as Chief Medical Officer of Life Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: LIFE), a unique position aimed at improving patient care through expanding the use of medically relevant genomic technologies in clinical settings.[1] Dr. Billings has extensive expertise and health care experience in the areas of genomics and molecular medicine. Dr. Billings has served in many roles in industry before joining Life Technologies as CMO. He was Co-Founder and Medical Director of CBR Inc., Founder and EVP of GeneSage, Senior VP and Physician at Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (LabCorp), CEO and President of Cellpoint Dx,Co-founder and Director of Omicia, Inc., Executive Chairman of Signature Genomics and Director, Ancestry.com. He has and continues to serve as a Director or scientific advisory board member for several companies (Bioscale,Trovagene, Applied Immunology, Aueon, and PAX Neurosciences). During his tenure at the VA, Dr. Billings was responsible for the construction and operation of new clinics in Monterrey and San Jose, CA with construction and operating budgets in excess of $200M and for which he won a national VAScissor’s Award for cost-effective management.
